Benefits of Therapeutic Riding

Physical:  Riding exercises the  core muscles and stimulates every movement system in the body while improving balance and posture, providing sensory integration and increasing circulation and respiration.

Mental:  Interacting with horses causes our bodies to produce endorphins, our body’s natural “feel good” hormone. This, in turn, opens us up to learning problem solving skills, taking responsibility for our actions, improving social skills in a safe environment and developing positive behavioral patterns.

Spiritual:  Horsemanship is an avenue through which we can learn to trust and interact with nature with authority as God intended.  This gives us an opportunity to understand ourselves and our world through God’s eyes and open our hearts to Jesus. Because of the honesty and purity of the horse, success with horsemanship is achieved to the level that the rider achieves balance, trust and leadership.
